Sitting
Sitting Things is an ongoing series about chairs.
The chair is both structure and symbol. It is the smallest architecture — a thing that must hold a body, negotiate comfort, and make a spatial claim. Chairs record class, improvisation, and material memory in ways that buildings rarely do so directly.
The series includes restorations, constructions, and drawings. Many of the works are not furniture. They are studies in support, balance, and the fragment parts found, built, or barely held together. Each piece is documented through images and drawings, treating the chair not as a design object but as a site.
